Chiang Mai Teacher's Manual - Back cover

Under Phase 3 of the “Forests on Blackboards” (FOB) project, the Chiang Mai Teachers' manual has been translated and reworked into a volume suitable for international schools in English. The work was undertaken in collaboration with Prem Tinsulanonda International School.

The manual has been updated and revised to more closely fit the needs of international schools, with additional material and new activities to inspire and inform mid-secondary school pupils.

It aims to raise awareness of environmental issues around Chiang Mai among school children and their teachers. The manual provides not only background knowledge but also skill sets, which enable children to work on projects that contribute towards solutions to some of the worst environmental problems that affect local communities in northern Thailand. Field trips around Doi Suthep are suggested, along with models to build and games to play.

The manual can be accessed via the FoB on-line learning platform Students can download the modules and take the quiz. If they pass all modules, they can download a certificate of achievement from Chiang Mai University. Teachers can keep track of their students' progress and adapt their lessons accordingly.

The Thai version is here.
