Phuttida Nippanon (Duck)

Duck gained her B.Sc. in Biology at CMU in 2013, and served as FORRU-CMU’s full-time Field Research Officer (sponsored by Biotropica Australia) from 2013 to 2016, whilst also studying the resilience of planted trees to fire for her M.Sc. in Environmental Science, for which she received an award from the NSTDA in June 2016. Her responsibilities included planning and implementing tree-planting trials, monitoring, data analysis and reporting, including Thailand’s first PES (payments for ecological services) demo site at Ban Pong Khrai. She led workshops and other educational events for groups of all ages, helped to organize the conference “Automated Forest Restoration” and co-ordinated the unit’s work with partners such as LEAF, PUR Projet, RIF and local communities. She is currently a Field Coordinator with the Regional Community Forestry Training Centre (RECOFTC).
