Nigel Tucker
Nigel Tucker has been active in ecological restoration science and practice since the mid-1980’s, working across a range of wet and dry tropical ecosystems in Australia, Indonesia, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. He was a founding board member of the journal, "Ecological Management and Restoration" and the Society for Ecological Restoration Australasia. In collaboration with Steve Goosem, he co-authored two editions of Repairing the Rainforest, detailing techniques for forest restoration in Australia’s Wet Tropics, in addition to many other publications (see https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Nigel-Tucker). He played a significant role in shaping FORRU-CMU's early research work, by introducing the unit to the framework species method and by training our staff in field and nursery techniques in northern Queensland. His company, Biotropica Australia, supported the unit's field officers over several years.
