Pan worked as Nursery Research Manager with FORRU-CMU 1998-2007. He gained his MSc (Biology) at CMU with the unit in 2002, studying the use of wildlings to raise planting stock of framework tree species, He went on to complete his PhD (Environmental Science) on the ecology and propagation of fig trees (Ficus spp.) as key species for restoring forest ecosystems, in 2012. He is currently Secretary of the Thale Noi Wetland Foundation (TWF) and is a lecturer at Thaksin University, Phatthalung Campus, where he teaches agroecology, agroforestry and natural resource management.
