Farzana Hossain, gained her B.Sc.(Zoology) from Chittagong University, Bangladesh in 2010.  She won a scholarship from Elephant Nature Park, Thailand in 2011 to pursue her Master's degree at Chiang Mai University in the Environmental Science programme. Working with FORRU-CMU and funded by Siam Cement Group, she investigated the effectiveness of direct seeding for restoring forest on an open cast lignite mine for her Master's thesis project. She completed her MSc in 2014.
