Pyae Shan is currently pursuing his MSc in Tropical Forestry and Agroforestry at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. He began his academic path in Environmental Studies at the University of Yangon and joined the Forest Restoration Research Unit (FORRU-CMU) as a volunteer in July 2022, before starting his B.Sc. in International Cooperation in Agriculture and Rural Development at FTZ-CZU. For his bachelor’s thesis, he worked with FORRU-CMU on evaluating the potential economic value of carbon credits in forest restoration plots in northern Thailand under the BKIND project, with field expenses supported by both FORRU-CMU and FTZ-CZU. He aims to embark on an MSc also on tree-carbon sequestration during the forest restoration shortly.
