Tomtam started working with FORRU-CMU as a volunteer and research assistant. She is also a researcher for the DSNC Seed Bank project, supported by the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Under the Royal Initiation of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG), in collaboration with the Doi Suthep Nature Centre and Forest Restoration Research Unit. She graduated with a MSc in Biology from Chiang Mai University. Her MSc thesis project was: “Seed Storage Behavior and Seed Surface Fungal Sterilization of Native Tree Species in Northern Thailand." She is currently a PhD student in environmental science at Chiang Mai University, researching: "Thermotolerance of seeds of selected framework tree species for forest-ecosystem restoration", supported by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew under the Global Tree Seed Bank Unlocked project .
